Of Black Wombhood (OBW) and Drexel’s Writers' Room have organized a private Wombhoood Circle event as an extension of OBW's public programming and art exhibitions, on view at the TILT Institute for the Contemporary Image from March 13 - May 31, and at Da Vinci Art Alliance from June 5 - June 22.
The Wombhood Circle will gather a small group of poets, writers, dreamers, and other community members to celebrate Black wombhood through the sharing of literary works, personal reflections, and writing exercises connected with the expansive theme of Black Wombhood. Each guest is encouraged—but not required—to bring a piece of writing or the memory of a personally significant experience.
Hosted by Andrea Walls, founder of the Museum of Black Joy. Light refreshments will be provided. By invitation only.
*A second Wombhood Circle, which will be open to the public, is scheduled take place in June 2025. Details are forthcoming.
